Schools, nature and wellbeing
Dr Kim Polgreen, OEA’s Director, is working with a team from the Oxford University Department of Psychiatry on a research project on the use of nature in secondary schools as a tool to manage mental health and wellbeing. The intention is to provide evidence for the project’s policy partners, UK Gov Department for Education on the value of nature engagement in schools.
Kim’s primary role has been to interview a range of teachers from different setting about their experiences of working with their students in a natural setting, and their observations of the effects, and to contribute a set of case studies on what some schools are doing.
We will post more information here, but if you would like to receive results when they are available please email kim@oxfordearthacademy.org to be added to the circulation list.
