Oxford Earth Academy exists to engaging young people, their teachers, parents, and future employers with the natural world and the climate emergency. The objective is to reach as many as possible in a constructive way to help them understand and be part of transitioning to a post carbon world. It is a non profit organisation, and is run by volunteers. We are delighted to work with Wytham Woods, the Environmental Change Institute, the Leverhulme centre for nature recovery, and the Department of Education, at the University of Oxford. Wytham Woods even got an award for our work with them!
OEA was set up as Leadership in Global Change Ltd (LIGC) in 2016 and we have not yet changed the company name but are now operating under the OEA name. LIGC was originally set up to run the youth summer school at the ECI. The Summer School is still called Leadership in Global Change.
