We are supporting The Cherwell School in Oxford to create a new ecology garden on an unused area of the school grounds, and are hoping that this initiative by the school will inspire other schools in Oxfordshire to also look at their grounds and what they can do to encourage biodiversity and use it for education and wellbeing.
There are around 355 schools in Oxfordshire, including 85 secondary schools.
We think that the DfE National Education Nature Park is a fantastic initiative and encourage all schools to take part. In Oxfordshire 18 secondary schools and 22 primary schools have signed up:
