Supporting your EPQ | 1st October 2026 | 4:00 - 6:30pm (arrive between 4 and 4.30) | In Person event | Oxford University School of Geography and Environment | For school students who sign up to OxSSN or come with teachers from their school.
OxCOP | 9th November 2026 | 10:00am - 14:30pm | Oxford Town Hall | For groups of students to join with a teacher from their school and form a team. Contact us for more details.

Teacher social and nature connection and education practicals: 17th June 2027, 6:00 - 8:00pm - Location TBC.
Where and When
Meetings are usually after school, 4.00 pm (arrive between 4.00 and 4.30) to 6.30 pm. Our current indoor venues are the Oxford University School of Geography and Environment, and Trinity College on alternate events. The Geography building entrance is in the University Science Area on Hinshelwood Road accessed from South Parks Road. Trinity College entrance is on Broad Street, OX1 3BH, opposite the turn into Turl St.
"Really useful talking to students who can tell me about various careers that they are thinking of to do with ecology and conservation. Also comforting knowing it's normal to be unsure at this point about what i want to do, and that I'll be able to drift around and try out various fields. "this was a good opportunity to get to chat with people with deep interest in climate change but in wide aspects. It shows me that climate change inter-connects with so many stuffs, emphasising the scale of its impact and the need of involvement from many stakeholders. I hope there will be more activities. ABOUT OxSSN
OxSSN is led by Phoebe Mortimer, Sustainability Lead for the River Learning Trust and an English teacher at Cheney School in Oxford; Megan Murray-Pepper, until recently a teacher and sustainability lead at Magdalen College School, and now independent sustainability educator; Lydia Wainwright, Sustainability Lead at Magdalen College School; and Kim Polgreen, a sustainability educator.
Our purpose is to support school students in the face of the climate and biodiversity challenge they face in their lives; to help them understand, prepare, and find a role within the future economy. We are running events to bring the students together, to share thoughts, ideas, and learning.
We are really grateful for support from the Oxford University Department of Education, the Oxford University School of Geography and Environment, the Leverhulme Centre for Nature Recovery at Oxford University, Trinity College Oxford, the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, the Oxford Climate Society, and the Oxford University Nature Conservation Society.
