Nature Education Opportunities in Oxfordshire

There are some other great places in Oxfordshire which support schools with nature education. These are some of our favourites.
Sutton Courtenay, Oxon | Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (bbowt.org.uk) BBOWT's education site runs sessions for primary and secondary schools.
Wildlife clubs | Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust (bbowt.org.uk). BBOWT has some fantastic wildlife clubs for kids, including Teen Rangers for older students.
Home | Oxford Botanic Garden and Arboretum. The OBGA offers some fantastic educational activities. The Gardens are very convenient for City schools, and the Arboretum is a fantastic place to go in good weather.
Oxford University Museum of Natural History offers a range of activities for primary and secondary schools.
Education experiences - Earth Trust. Mainly for primary but with lots of exciting plans for the future, so keep an eye out for new activities including education around food production.
FarmED | FarmED - Farm & Food Education | England (farm-ed.co.uk). THE place to learn about regenerative farming. Fantastic tours and talks. Great for school / uni / college students. Delicious food in the cafe, and a wonderful relaxing place to be.
Hill End: a multi-purpose outdoor and residential centre in Oxfordshire (hill-end.org). A great place for primary groups. Teachers can self lead or book into one of the led sessions they provide.
Learn | Oxford University Museum of Natural History. Brilliant learning sessions on a wide range of natural history topics for all ages and groups. Curriculum focus for school groups.
Everyone's Evenlode - Cotswolds National Landscape (cotswoldsaonb.org.uk). Ros, Rowan and Jennifer offer inspiring river exploration experiences for primary and secondary schools (geography focus). Get in touch with them for information.
Wytham Woods is a fantastic place for families to visit, or schools to go for fieldwork. Schools can contact Wytham Woods via their website and book in for a self led fieldwork day. For support with fieldwork contact kim@oxfordearthacademy.org.
Oxford City Farm runs school visit activities, both facilitated and self led at different prices. Students explore animal care, seasonal growing, food production, and nature-based activities while building confidence, wellbeing, and practical skills.
